DCBIA 25th Annual Community Improvement Day Event Recap

On Saturday, September 23rd, approximately 10 ULI Washington Young Leaders volunteered at DCBIA’s 25th Community Improvement Day at DHCA’s Benning Terrace Community Center in Southeast DC.  DCBIA’s vision is to help make Washington, DC a vibrant city that is meeting significant challenges to be a livable, competitive and thriving community for all.  ULI Washington helped improve the site for Benning Terrace residents by shoveling mulch, planting new shrubs, and weaving ribbon designs into the fence (using the Benning Terrace Football team colors).  This year’s DCBIA Community Improvement Day had over 350 volunteers total!  After all the hard work completed by volunteers, the residents of Benning Terrace will now be able to enjoy their new shade structures, walking path, exercise equipment, landscaping, enhanced basketball courts, community garden, and many other upgrades.
