Regionalism Initiative Council
The goals of the Initiative Council are to advocate for change in attitude among today’s leaders; educate tomorrow’s leaders via Leadership Institute; Participate in private and public forums whenever possible, and coordinate with like-minded groups such as the NCPC, MWCOG, Board of Trade and 2030 Group. The Initiative Council will develop a program for the general membership on a topic related to regionalism, a Trends Conference panel and a presentation to the ULI Washington advisory board. In addition, members will create a link from the ULI Washington website to highlight the Council’s activities and investigate the possibility of creating a speaker’s bureau that can deliver the Council’s message to other groups, including public officials. The final strategy is to develop a public sector outreach strategy to provide information to elected and appointed officials to help them understand the overall objectives of “Regionalism” in conjunction with the interests of the private sector.

Regional Leadership: Vision to Action
On the afternoon of November 13, 2012, the ULI Washington Regionalism Initiative Council brought together over 100 leaders from the public, private and nonprofit sectors at the Columbus Club at Union Station for a meeting on “Regional Leadership: Vision to Action.” This meeting was a first step in a new campaign for ULI Washington, whereby we are striving to build and enhance partnerships with other regional organizations, business leaders, cities and counties in order to pursue strategies that will ensure future economic growth and stability in the National Capital Region.
