The Trailblazer Award was presented to Bob Youngentob, Executive Chairman and Co-Founder, EYA LLC, by Roger Winston, Partner, Ballard Spahr, LLP.

Bob’s legacy at EYA has had a major impact in the Metropolitan Washington Region: EYA has delivered over 7000 homes throughout the region, including townhomes, multifamily and mixed income neighborhoods. EYA has won numerous national awards including the ULI Award for Excellence and ULI’s Jack Kemp Award for workforce housing, and is a two-time winner of America’s Best Builder and the National Housing Quality Award. Bob is a former chair of ULI Washington and is a member of ULI Washington’s Governance Committee. Bob has also been a guest lecturer on real estate at the Harvard Business School, University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins University, and has spoken at numerous conferences sponsored by the Urban Land Institute and Builder Magazine.  He has been recognized as an “Entrepreneur of the Year” for real estate and was inducted into the W.H. Marvin Hall of Fame for Design Excellence. (Watch Video)

The Groundbreaker Award was presented to Brian Allan (AJ) Jackson, JBG Smith, by Jamie Weinbaum, Horning.

AJ heads social impact investing for JBG SMITH, where he built and leads an innovative platform that partners market-driven investment capital with mission-aligned sponsors to create affordable workforce housing and increase economic mobility in high opportunity neighborhoods. AJ is also a Trustee of the Urban Land Institute, where he serves on the Advisory Board of the Randall Lewis  Center for Sustainability in Real Estate, and led the working group that developed the 10 Principles for Embedding Racial Equity in Real Estate Development.   He also serves on the Management Committee for the ULI Prize for Visionaries in Urban Development, is a past Chair of the Public Private Partnerships Council, and is a member of the Governance Committee of ULI Washington.  AJ is a graduate of ULI Washington’s Leadership Institute.  (Watch Video)

The Changemaker Award was presented to Angie Rodgers, Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, Economic Development, Prince George’s County by Caroline Kenney, Managing Director of Public/Private Ventures, Urban Atlantic .

Angie Rodgers is the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for Economic Development in the Office of Prince George’s County.  With a track record of executing mixed finance transactions and large-scale development projects, Angie provides leadership and oversight to 10 County-chartered, quasi- and independent agencies focused on business development and corporate attraction, affordable housing, parks, planning, tourism, small business growth and support, workforce development, and the arts. Possessing a diverse background in affordable housing, real estate finance, policy research, and public advocacy, Angie is adept at collaborating with regional and national stakeholders to implement innovative solutions to community challenges. She is committed to improving how we plan, design, finance, build, and support communities that can deliver the same opportunities and benefits to people of all backgrounds and can specifically move low-income households toward areas of opportunity rather than away from them.
