The DC Office of Planning (DCOP), the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority and the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, engaged ULI Washington to host a Technical Assistance Panel (TAP) to provide expert analysis of opportunities and challenges in Friendship Heights. With a focus primarily on the DC-side of Friendship Heights, the panel was tasked with evaluating existing land use, transit assets and access, opportunities to increase housing options, and providing cohesive design and public realm recommendations. Bob Peck of Gensler and Katie Bucklew of AvalonBay co-chaired the TAP panel which included ULI members with expertise in design, development, affordable housing, transit planning and traffic engineering, community outreach and market analysis.
On April 23rd the panel presented their findings and recommendations to the sponsors and public. Links to the webinar recording and powerpoint are provided below. A written report will be issued in 10 – 12 weeks. The public can share feedback about the TAP with the DC Office of Planning here.
