University of Maryland Team wins place in final four for ULI Hines Competition

ULI Washington is proud to announce that a graduate student team from the University of Maryland has been selected as one of four finalists in the prestigious national ULI Hines Competition.  This year’s site is located in Nashville, Tennessee, and on April 3 the team will travel to Nashville to compete for the $50,000 grand prize for the competition.  The UMD team proposes a partnership between the existing private owners and the State of Tennessee. Read more about the competition and the team from University of Maryland, click here.

Presentation by design team finalists for MLK Jr. Memorial Library

The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, D.C.’s Central Library, was designed by renowned modern architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The building, which opened in 1972, is now poised to take on a new look and greater role in the District of Columbia. CHICAGO (November 5, 2013) — Seventeen grants totaling $250,000 have been awarded to Urban Land Institute (ULI) district and national councils through ULI’s Urban Innovation Grant program. The recipients were announced today at ULI’s Fall Meeting in Chicago. ULI Washington releases TAP report: Temporary Uses at Walter Reed Army Medical Center

On April 1st and 2nd, ULI Washington held a Technical Assistance Panel for the District of Columbia Office of the Deputy Mayor for Economic Development (DMPED)looking at temporary uses for the former Walter Reed Army Medical Center Site.  A Technical Assistance Panel (TAP) is a 1.5-day exercise where a multidisciplinary panel of senior ULI members and other experts offer objective and responsible advice to local governments on a wide variety of land use and real estate issues. Workplace of the Future Report has been Released by ULI Washington!
