So you’ve got your plans, secured your funding, finished the entitlement process, and now you are finally ready to build! With millions of investor dollars on the line and a high interest loan hanging over your head, you know how important it is to deliver on time. If only you knew more about the construction process to understand and mitigate the risks…

Please join the ULI Young Leaders’ Real Estate 101 Committee on Monday, November 20 for a discussion with experts in the construction industry. The program will feature a brief, high level overview of construction by Steven Teitelbaum, adjunct professor at American University’s Kogod School of Business. Next, our panel featuring John Begert and Kevin Schaar from MRP Realty and Steve Griffin from Paradigm, will talk through the exciting process of building Dock 79, a two-phase project in the Capitol Riverfront submarket featuring a 305-unit apartment building.

Speakers include:

Steve Teitelbaum, teaches real estate development at American University’s M.S in Real Estate program. Mr. Teitelbaum is a Senior Real Estate Advisor for WMATA and co-chairs the DC Building Industry Association’s Construction and Development Committee. A graduate of Columbia University’s School of Law, Mr. Teitelbaum was a Partner at Jones Day until 2011 where he represented developers, institutional owners, foreign investors and entrepreneurs.
