ULI Washington- RE 101 Retail- The Uncertain Future
The Uncertain Future of Retail
In late January, Amazon unveiled Amazon Go, a frictionless retail experience that news outlets like CNN have dubbed “the store of the future.” The announcement came just days after Macy’s, one of the nation’s largest retailers, announced its plans to close nearly 100 stores over the next few years. The striking difference between these two headlines has led many in our industry to ask one critical question: just what is the future of retail?
Please join the Real Estate 101 Committee on Tuesday February 20th at Spaces NoMa for an exciting debate and discussion on the future of retail moderated by Ilana Preuss (Founder, Recast City). Our expert panel includes three of the most talented professionals working in retail real estate today:
- Mike Jacoby, CEO, Broad Street Realty LLC
- Steve Gaudio, Founder, District Equities
- Bobby Boone, Senior Research Strategist, Streetsense
Following the panel, attendees are encouraged to join us for cocktails, networking and socializing.
Note: If you are new to ULI, we invite you to arrive early (5:45PM) for pre-event networking. The Real Estate 101 committee will be there to greet you and introduce you to members of the community. Please let a registration desk staffer know that you are new member!
Special thanks to Spaces for their sponsorship of Real Estate 101.
