March 24, 2018
9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Capital Area Food Bank
4900 Puerto Rico Avenue, NE
Washington, DC 20017 United States
Join us for a day of fun spent paying it forward around helping others in the community. As a volunteer, we will ROLL UP our SLEEVES and get to work sorting and packing thousands of pounds of food that will soon be on its way to the plates of children and families throughout our area.

By volunteering with the Capital Area Food Bank, you are a part of the movement to get good, healthy food into every community. You support helps provide groceries, warm meals, and other critical food to the families who are at risk of hunger in the Washington metro area.

The Capital Area Food Bank is located at 4900 Puerto Rico Ave NE, Washington, DC 20017. Use the volunteer entrance. Parking is available by the volunteer entrance – follow the signs. The food bank can be hard to find. If possible, take the shuttle.

The closest metro stations are Brookland/CUA and Ft. Totten, which are accessible on the red line. A CAFB shuttle van will pick up volunteers from the Ft. Totten Metro Station:The morning pick-up times at the Ft. Totten Station will be at 8:45am

Everyone must wear closed-toe shoes. Wearing a light jacket is recomended in case we are working in a refrigerated section.

Please send an email to Emily Weberman if you would like to attend.
