The ULI Washington Young Leaders Community Service Committee is looking forward to hosting its fifth annual holiday service opportunity for volunteers of all ages with our community partner, Community of Hope. Community of Hope's Holiday Market welcomes about 200 families each year to The Conway Health and Resource Center in Ward 8 to support local small businesses, take photos with Santa, and do festive crafts.  Local entrepreneurs will also have tables to sell their items to enable Community of Hope families to purchase holiday gifts at reasonable prices.

Community of Hope's mission is to create opportunities for low-income families in Washington, DC, including those experiencing homelessness, to achieve good health, a stable home, family-sustaining income, and hope.

ULI Washington volunteers will help with serving snacks, assisting with arts & crafts, gingerbread decorating, storytelling, and help with overall support for the event.

If you cannot attend, Community of Hope would appreciate donations of new unwrapped toys or books, you can bring these donations to the event or drop them off at ULI  Headquarters under the name of Emily Weberman (2001 L Street NW, Suite 200).

The Holiday Market runs from 12:00 PM -3:00 PM, and we'd like volunteers to arrive no later than 11:15 to sign-in, get a volunteer t-shirt, and get settled in their roles.

Please note that all volunteers will receive lunch on behalf of the Community of Hope.

Parking: If you are driving, the parking deck can be accessed from S. Capitol Street. Use 4049 S. Capitol Street for GPS purposes.  Please park in a Community of Hope space. The entrance is at the front of the Conway building.  There is also free street parking nearby.

If you are taking the metro, the closest stop is the Congress Heights Station.

Please send an email to Emily Weberman, [email protected], if you would like to attend.  We look forward to helping out the adults and children in the community with some holiday cheer.
