    Matt founded Terra Search Partners around the concept that retained executive search has the power to help clients beyond the job placement. Since 2017, Matt has been the host of the podcast series, "Leading Voices in Real Estate," where he has had conversations with leaders from throughout the real estate industry about their career journeys and the businesses that they run.

    Ellen Klasson manages RCLCO's Management Consulting practice and leads executive search engagements for leadership roles at development, investment, and land use companies across all asset classes. Ellen is involved with the Urban Land Institute, where she is the Americas Chair of its Women's Leadership Initiative and a member of the Urban Revitalization Council.

    Matt Slepin

    Co-Head of Real Estate, Terra Search Partners, LLC

    March, 2018 Matt is the Founder and Managing Partner of Terra Search Partners, a leading retained executive search firm focused exclusively on the real estate industry. He is also the host of the real estate leadership podcast, Leading Voices in Real Estate (leadingvoicespodcast.com). Prior to starting in search, Matt held leadership, management and functional roles within the real estate industry for more than 20 years. He was founder and executive director of the Multifamily Housing Institute in Washington, DC. Matt has also worked in key development, advocacy and finance positions for the National Housing Partnership, National Association of Housing Cooperatives and the Resolution Trust Corporation. He further rounded out his real estate expertise with NV Commercial, a northern Virginia-based commercial property company, and Reilly Mortgage, one of the country's leading apartment lenders. Matt graduated with a bachelor's degree in political science from Oberlin College.

    Ellen Klasson

    Managing Director, RCLCO

    Ellen is a Managing Director at RCLCO, where she leads executive search assignments for senior members of real estate teams in companies across the country. Ellen has a deep knowledge of real estate development and neighborhood revitalization, and she is driven by identifying and developing leaders who will positively impact cities. Ellen most recently was Managing Director at Terra Search Partners, where she consulted with real estate companies and identified people to lead them. Previously, she served as Senior Director of the Leadership Network at the Urban Land Institute (ULI) in Washington, DC. In this role, Ellen oversaw the leadership initiatives for the organization’s 40,000 members worldwide. Prior to joining ULI, Ellen co-directed CohnReznick’s Real Estate Development Advisory practice in Atlanta, analyzing real estate opportunities for developers and municipalities. She was formerly Vice President of Economic Development at Central Atlanta Progress, where she managed the architecture, content, and exhibit design for the Center for Civil and Human Rights. Ellen graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Emory University and a master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from Georgia Tech.
