Given the housing shortage in the DMV, many developers, owners, and investors have leveraged traditional financing and sought creative solutions to build or preserve housing. With high demand, impact investing and lending strategies for affordable housing or workforce housing continue to evolve to provide the necessary capital to create housing. Speakers will provide an overview of their equity or debt programs including the investment thesis, fundraising strategies, partners, and returns on investment–both in terms of profit and community impact. Attendees will learn about how the real estate industry can build communities that have a lasting impact while still generating strong risk-adjusted returns with traditional techniques like LIHTC and other emerging capital sources.

In lieu of a post-event happy hour, attendees are invited to join a service event after the event. We are partnering with A Bright Spot to handmake cards for families in housing placements, seniors in assisted living, and children in the hospital. All card-making materials are provided. Cards will be donated to A Bright Spot in Bethesda, MD for distribution.

Hosted by ULI Washington's YLG Programs and Community Service Committees
