The Wharf is a $3.6 billion, world-class, mixed-use waterfront neighborhood located along the Washington Channel of the Potomac River, that has established Washington DC as a true waterfront city. With phase 1 delivered in 2017 Hoffman & Associates went on to develop Phase 2. Scheduled to open in 2022, the Wharf Phase 2 will deliver an additional 1.15 million square feet of mixed-use spaces, including a marina, office, residential, retail, as well as parks and public spaces to the District’s Southwest Waterfront. Once completed, the Wharf will feature more than 3.2 million square feet of development including residences, offices, hotels, shops, restaurants, entertainment venues, cultural uses, marinas, and public spaces including waterfront parks, promenades and piers.

This Case Study event will take a behind the scenes look at the second phase of this landmark development. Featuring 255 apartments, 96 condominiums, 131 hotel rooms, 223 boat slips, a 1.5 acre park, 547,000 SF of office space, 95,000 SF of retail space, and 2 garages with over 1,000 spaces total, this development involved an array of stakeholders, project team members, vendors, and people to complete. The goal of this case study event is to hear from some of the key players and hear firsthand about the coordinated efforts needed to complete this project.

The panel discussion comprises of key members on the project team who will provide attendees with their own unique stories on their involvement with the Wharf Phase 2, lessons learned, and insights into how they are delivering one of the crown jewel developments in our nation’s capital.
