    Join the ULI Washington Women's Leadership Initiative and Circles program participants for a discussion on 'Telling Your Story.' Learn career insights, strategies for advancement, and ways to navigate the current real estate environment from Ellen Klasson (RCLCO), Kelly Nagel (Edens), and Maria Thompson (Hoffman & Associates). The discussion will be moderated by Roberta "Bobby" Bosfield (Rawson Square CRE). Following the discussion, a happy hour provides an opportunity to mingle with current and prospective Circles members and learn about this valuable professional development opportunity.

    Roberta Bosfield

    Managing Partner, Rawson Square CRE, LLC

    As Founder and Managing Partner of Rawson Square, Ms. Bosfield assumes primary responsibility for firm and project management, with a commitment to developing strong relationships for superior service. That commitment has produced results for our advisory clients and partners. Ms. Bosfield has more than 15 years of real estate experience with the recent years focused on the acquisition and repositioning of multifamily investments in the Mid-Atlantic market. Bobby has also led development advisory projects with clients such as YMCA of Washington and American Baptist Churches (ABC), successfully executed mixed use development projects in the District of Columbia. She has been part of over $1.5 billion of development and investment projects, these include urban infill, multifamily, retail, and institutional projects involving new construction and renovation. Bobby has a passion for entrepreneurship and has spent her real estate career with several growing platforms, including Linden Property Group and CSG Urban Partners. Ms. Bosfield has a BSB in Finance from the University of Minnesota. Bobby completed her doctoral studies in Construction Management at Arizona State University where she led research on the best practices of front end development planning for large Oil & Gas companies. She continues to serve on local and national industry committees for Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI). Bobby is originally from The Bahamas and resides in Washington, DC.

    Ellen Klasson

    Managing Director, RCLCO

    Ellen Klasson is a Managing Director in RCLCO’s Management Consulting practice, working out of the Washington, DC office. Ellen leads executive search engagements for leadership roles at development, investment, and land use companies across all asset classes. Ellen’s consultative nature has enabled her to identify and attract talent for both traditional and nuanced roles, and her deep understanding of the business lends itself to a more analytical approach of a candidates’ viability. Working for nearly twenty years in the real estate industry has allowed Ellen to forge long-lasting relationships with and earn the trust of both clients and candidates. Ellen most recently was Managing Director at Terra Search Partners, where she consulted with real estate companies and identified people to lead them. Previously, she served as Senior Director of the Leadership Network at the Urban Land Institute (ULI) in Washington, DC. In this role, Ellen oversaw the leadership initiatives for the organization’s 40,000 members worldwide. Prior to joining ULI, Ellen co-directed CohnReznick’s Real Estate Development Advisory practice in Atlanta, analyzing real estate opportunities for developers and municipalities. She was formerly Vice President of Economic Development at Central Atlanta Progress, where she managed the architecture, content, and exhibit design for the Center for Civil and Human Rights. Ellen graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Emory University and a master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from Georgia Tech.

    Kelly Nagel

    Head of Residential, EDENS

    Kelly Sewell Nagel is the head of residential for EDENS, a leading national owner, developer, and steward of more than 100 open-air retail and mixed-use places in high-growth markets coast to coast. Prior to joining EDENS, Kelly was the founder and managing partner of Residy, a multifamily investment management platform, and was responsible for acquisitions and asset management of the venture’s investment portfolio. She has broad experience in multifamily operations, development, and investments in both publicly traded REITs and privately held firms and has developed and asset managed thousands of apartment units. Before founding Residy, she built and oversaw the multifamily platform and portfolio for a Philadelphia-based real estate private equity fund manager, managing acquisitions, dispositions, financings, redevelopment and capital expenditures, asset and property management. She served as a regional vice president at AIMCO Apartment Homes, one of the country's largest owners and operators of apartments, with 125 communities in 17 states, where she was responsible for the company’s east coast investments including acquisitions, developments, redevelopments, and construction. Ms. Nagel led development and asset management teams for over $1.5 billion of multifamily and mixed-use projects throughout the US. She also provided direction and strategic oversight in key functional areas of operations, marketing, long-range planning, and property management for over 5,700 apartments. Ms. Nagel has held senior positions at AvalonBay Communities and Archstone where she led development teams for over $600 million of multifamily and mixed-use projects. She started her commercial real estate career at Regency Centers, a leading national retail REIT, where she was responsible for the financial underwriting of acquisitions and developments for multiple markets. Prior to commercial real estate, Kelly was a senior program manager for the Defense Intelligence Agency and served as a consultant with Accenture. She has been an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) since 2009, recently serving as a Global Governing Trustee and she is a past chair of the Americas Women’s Leadership Initiative. Kelly is also on the leadership team of the Urban Development and Mixed Use (UDMUC) Bronze Product Council. She holds an MBA from Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill, and a BS in Business Administration & Accounting from Washington & Lee University, where she sits on the advisory board for UNC’s Leonard Wood Center for Real Estate Studies (executive committee and chair of the nominating and governance committee) and is the immediate past chair of the board of advisors for the W&L Williams School of Commerce. She is a Girl Scout leader and a board member of Good Shepherd Housing, a nonprofit providing affordable housing and ancillary services in Fairfax County, VA. Kelly also serves as an adjunct professor and executive in residence for the Steers Center for Global Real Estate at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. Kelly resides in McLean, VA, with her three children.

    Maria Thompson

    Chief Operating Officer, Hoffman & Associates

    Maria Thompson joined Hoffman & Associates in 2015, and as Chief Operating Officer, oversees all operating divisions of the company including all projects such as The Wharf Phase 2, Waterfront Station II, Parcel B at Audi Field, Seaboard Station, RUS Bus and West Falls, representing $6B of Hoffman & Associates’ expanding portfolio. With nearly three decades of industry experience, Maria has managed projects totaling nearly $4B in the DC Metro Area. She previously served as Vice President of Business Acquisition at Balfour Beatty and started her career as a Project Engineer at Clark Construction. Maria is deeply involved in various professional organizations, holding active roles in DCBIA and Women In Construction, where she currently serves on the executive board for both. She is also an engaged member of ULI, acting as a mentor for the YGL program, and contributes to CREW DC as a member of the President’s Advisory Council. Additionally, Maria actively participates in ABC Metro Washingtonian, AAREP DC, ASCE, NSBE, and NABWIC. Maria has been recognized by GlobeSt as a Women of Influence and honored by the Washington Business Journal as a Diversity in Business Leader and Women Who Mean Business recipient. She graduated from Morgan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and the University of Maryland University College with a Master of Science in Management.
