The Young Leaders Group Community Service Committee and the Miracle League of Alexandria (MLA) are teaming up for an event on Saturday, September 28. The MLA has been providing recreation opportunities for
Alexandria's special needs community since 2010. In 2012, the Kelley Cares Miracle Field was opened at 1108 Jefferson Street to meet the needs of the community. A Miracle Field is a rubberized baseball and softball diamond that fully accommodates wheelchairs and walkers for ball sports.

The event on September 28 will be a baseball game, and volunteers are needed for several aspects of the game. Volunteers will be helping participants handling the ball, running the bases, batting, announcing the game, playing catcher, and cheering on participants. The game runs from 1:00 – 2:30 pm, and volunteers are expected to arrive by 12:30 for an orientation.

Rain or Shine: In case of rain, the event will be at the Nannie J. Lee Recreation Center (same address)

Clothing: Athletic gear you feel comfortable moving around in
