YLG Office in an Era of Less

Washington, D.C., February 15, 2012 – Four of the region’s leading office experts discussed trends in office development and tenant demand. The Education Committee of the ULI Young Leaders Group hosted the program titled “Office in an Era of Less” this morning. Panelist Marcia Hart, Founder and President of Roomtag, discussed the improved ability of tenants to calculate and monitor their real estate costs. Fellow panelist Elizabeth Norton, Vice President and Director of Mid-Atlantic Research at Delta Associates, explained that tenants continue to demand higher quality space in amenity-rich locations based on recent surveys. Panelist Joe Stettinius, President and Principal at Cassidy Turley, discussed how the new technology is rendering old space obsolete faster than previous decades. The final panelist, Garret Preis, Development Officer and Project Executive at Gould Property Company, discussed the increasing demand of high quality flexible conference and collaborative work spaces. The setting of the event, the 11th floor conference space of Bingham McCutchen LLP, complimented Garrets point. Over 75 real estate professionals attended the event.
