Diversity, Equity + Inclusion
We recognize that ULI and the Real Estate and Land Use industry has not prioritized racial diversity, equity, and inclusion in the past. As industry leaders, we acknowledge the harmful legacy of past and current development policies and practices that segregate black and brown communities and restrict access to better schools, safer streets, even cleaner air. ULI Washington remains firmly committed to advancing the cause of equitable development and diversity and inclusion within the industry.
ULI Washington’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Steering Committee meets monthly to develop policies and best practices to promote racial diversity, equitable development and inclusive practices within ULI Washington and the real estate and land use sectors.
Because a more diverse membership will better enable us to fulfill ULI’s mission of creating and sustaining thriving communities, ULI Washington partnered with ULI’s national office in 2019 to launch our Pathways to Inclusion Initiative. The Initiative is designed to broaden ULI membership and expand the professional networks of minority real estate and land use professionals in Washington, D.C.
