HOUSING INITIATIVE PRODUCT COUNCIL CHAIR
Formed in 2012, the Council is comprised of ULI members from the public and private sectors who are involved in the planning, design, financing or development of affordable, multifamily, mixed-use, single family, and age-targeted homes. The Council meets quarterly to share ideas on housing issues throughout the region, and to plan educational events for both ULI members and for local elected and public sector officials who work in the Housing realm.
Recently, the Council has focused on supporting the region’s housing goals including preservation of existing affordable units and production targets for new affordable and workforce housing approved by the Council of Governments and adopted by local jurisdictions. This past year, programming included tours of office-to-residential conversion projects in Downtown DC and Panel discussion on getting deals done in the current market. The council is seeking members who are interested to actively engage in an exchange of ideas between the public and private sectors to support these important regional goals and put into practice the skills and strategies learned here.
