This past Wednesday, November 15th ULI Washington honored Ronald D. Paul, Chairman, President, and CEO of Eagle Bancorp, Inc. and Chairman and CEO of EagleBank, with the 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award in front of a crowd of over 750 business and civic leaders and real estate professionals at the National Building Museum.
James “JB” Brown, a well-known sportscaster who presented Mr. Paul with the award remarked that there is “a common refrain that you hear from any and everyone who knows Ron Paul…that is he is in the hall of fame in the game of life. A man who is living proof of a maxim that love never fails and in fact Ron to many of us has been the living embodiment of a gift that keeps on giving love.”
Upon receiving the award, Mr. Paul remarked:
“When Matt, Yolanda and Bob came to me to let me know about this truly special award needless to say I was blown away… I was overwhelmed when I realized I was receiving the same award that has been given to so many leaders in this community that I always looked up to.”
“To the board and leadership of ULI, thank you… ULI is such an important organization in our community. Mentoring young entrepreneurs and giving back to our community are values that mean so much to me.”
“We are a great industry. We create the skyline of our town. We create the communities in which we live, the offices in which we work, and the parks in which we and our children play. Continue to support ULI, continue to create the greatest city in the country, but most importantly continue to build and cherish our relationships. For if we fail in respecting and loving one another what have we truly accomplished? Thank you all.”
The ULI Washington Lifetime Achievement Award was created to recognize a leader from the Washington real estate community whose life exemplifies the mission of ULI and who, in addition to a lifetime of commitment to real estate, has given back to the community through demonstrated civic, charitable and philanthropic endeavors.
