Volunteering with Urban Plan is a great way to connect with fellow ULI members while sharing your subject matter expertise with local students, public officials and community members.
In order to volunteer with UrbanPlan, ULI Washington members must first complete the UrbanPlan training. The training consists of a day-long simulation exercise in which participants are assigned roles and engage in a “lightning-round” version of UrbanPlan, while simultaneously learning the UrbanPlan curriculum and how to serve as classroom facilitators and mock city councilmembers.
Once trained, members are asked to volunteer at least once a year to stay current with the material. ULI Washington also offers periodic refresher training sessions for its volunteers.
