Two scholarships were provided to two deserving applicants by the ULI Washington Young Leader Scholarship Fund to ULI Washington’s 2016 Real Estate Trends Conference. We hope Chris Marshall and Megan Mills enjoyed the conference!
Meet the impressive recipients below:
Chris Marshall is currently implementing DC’s Inclusionary Zoning and Affordable Dwelling Unit programs at the DC Department of Housing and Community Development. Through this, he monitors compliance with affordable housing regulations; partners with property managers and sales agents on lease-up and sales plans; and provides feedback on development proposals and their affordable housing offerings. Prior to this, Chris spent 5+ years with the U.S. Green Building Council developing the LEED green building rating systems and implementing the LEED for Neighborhood Development rating systems. Chris holds a Masters of Urban and Regional Planning from Virginia Tech and a Bachelors of Arts in Social Relations and Policy from Michigan State University (Go Green!).
Megan Mills is a licensed architect in Washington DC where she has worked designing mixed use buildings, international cities, and office interiors for the past 6 years. Currently, Megan works at Shalom Baranes Associates where she has realized several mixed use projects in the DC area. Before that, her work at Gensler centered on designing professional offices and masterplanning international cities. She started her career working at the former Rogers Marvel in New York City designing large scale commercial park projects. Megan graduated from Rice University and holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Architecture from Rice.
