The health and safety of our members, staff and event attendees remains ULI’s highest priority. Since we announced our COVID-19 response plan in March we have continued to closely monitor the pandemic guidelines and information issued by the WHO, the CDC, local and state health and public officials. In light of current recommendations and forecasts, ULI Washington has made further adjustments to our schedule of meetings, events and programs. The following changes will now remain in effect through the end of June:

• All committee meetings have been converted to conference/video calls.
• All events, Initiative Council meetings, programs and training sessions have been rescheduled, canceled or, where possible, are proceeding virtually as Zoom calls or webinars.
• Our Trends Conference planned for April 30^th has been cancelled. All registrations and sponsorships have been refunded.

Although we cannot meet in person, we are continuing to serve and engage our 2,500 members through virtual programs, networking opportunities and information sharing including:

• Launching virtual public programming, free to members, to explore the impacts of COVID-19 and the “new normal.” Recent and upcoming events include:
  • Brave New World:  The Economic Outlook and What’s Next for Real Estate: Webinar on April 28 featuring Dr. Victor Calanog, Head of Commercial Real Estate Economics for Moody’s Analytics (recording available soon).
  • Staying Sane while Staying Virtual: an interactive discussion about leadership and work-like balance on May 5 hosted by the Women’s Leadership Initiative and NEXT.
  • Weekly Digital Happy Hours that have become a welcoming place for members to connect and share.
  • Virtual Young Leaders Group (YLG) Summit on May 13^th to learn more about getting involved with ULI.

• Converting pre-COVID events to online events including upcoming panel on Prince George County Development on May 12^th and virtual project tours.
• Converting all committee meetings, Initiative Councils, mentorship groups, WLI Circles, Leadership Institute and UrbanPlan and other programming to virtual formats.
• Planning for our first virtual Technical Assistance Panel (TAP).
• Releasing FY21 committee and program opportunities – applications due May 31^st.
• Promoting service and donation opportunities to support local businesses, residents and first responders in our region.

In addition to local programming, we are leveraging ULI’s global network to provide real-time information, best practices and professional development through live and on-demand webinars.  ULI’s Spring Meeting is now a virtual series starting May 11^th which is free to full members with paid registrations available to associate members.
