March 14, 2019
County and municipal officials from across the country gathered in Washington, DC on Saturday, March 9th for another successful UrbanPlan for Public Officials workshop. Offered by the Urban Land Institute in partnership with the National League of Cities, the workshop taught participants attending the NLC Congressional City Conference about the fundamental forces that shape and affect the built environment. Under the leadership of ULI Washington member Susan Bell, participants collaborated with peers to redevelop the fictional neighborhood of Elmwood, getting feedback along the way from real estate professionals who volunteer with ULI Washington’s UrbanPlan program. Many thanks to volunteers Dan Anderton, Eric Maribojoc, Adam Weers, Tom Rosenfield, Bridget Obikoya, Robert Atkinson and Chris Ruhlen for serving as team advisers, facilitators and mock city council members. The program would not have been possible without them!
