On November 15th, ULI Washington Young Leaders Group hosted their 2nd Annual Real Estate Trivia Night at 1800 K Street, NW. With participants from all over the Washington, DC real estate industry, this year’s numbers for both attendance and fundraising far surpassed that of the inaugural event held in 2015. The event, in partnership with the event’s supporting sponsors, raised more than $16,000 for Community of Hope and the ULI YLG Scholarship Fund. Community of Hope supports DC low-income and homeless families with healthcare, housing and education, and the ULI YLG Scholarship Fund helps young leaders attend major annual ULI events.
Supported again this year by several industry leaders and influencers, the attendees of the 2nd Annual Real Estate Trivia Night participated in three rounds of pop culture, real estate, and history themed trivia. Yolanda Cole, Senior Principal of Hickok Cole was featured as the event emcee with support from special guests including Anthony Chang of Washington REIT, Martin Ditto of Ditto Residential and Brant Snyder of Lowe Enterprises. Together, the team did a wonderful job adding their own influence to the evening providing additional edge to the competition when needed.
With 47 teams and nearly 280 total attendees, the competition was fierce. The three rounds of trivia, featuring four questions each, resulted in a tie for first place between The Rubin Geniuses (The Rubin Group) and The Rent Is Too D*** High (Bozzuto Homes). However, after an intense tie-break question, The Rubin Geniuses were victorious receiving gold medals and gift cards furnished by BlackFinn Ameripub.
With another successful year of Real Estate Trivia in the books, we would like to take a moment to acknowledge that none of this would be possible without our amazing volunteers and sponsors. A special thanks to Bohler Engineering, Cushman & Wakefield, EB5 Capital, MRP Realty, Vornado/Charles E. Smith, Walker & Dunlop, Form Architects, CBRE and Linowes and Blocher LLP. Additionally, the Trivia Night Raffle was made possible by donations from Hawthorne, Mon Ami Gabi, Summer House at Pike and Rose, Stella Barra North Bethesda, Sweetgreen, Washington REIT, Kendra Scott, TWC Contracting, Bognet Construction, Polished of Georgetown, Vornado/Charles E. Smith and Orange Anchor. Finally, a huge thank you to Yolanda Cole, our emcee, our individual trivia round special guests, and all of those whom came out to support this wonderful cause.
