About: Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens (FoKAG) is a nonprofit organization that connects people to the park through stewardship, engagement and educational programs. FoKAG was founded in 2001 by a small group of volunteers enthralled by the park’s unique beauty and place in DC history. Keenly aware of the enormous task of maintaining the park, FoKAG works in cooperation with the National Park Service to ensure the park is well-maintained, well-enjoyed and welcoming for neighbors and visitors.

What is the goal? Participate in a variety of park stewardship activities including invasive plant removal, litter collection, flower bed weeding, trail maintenance and more. Some activities involve working in shallow ponds. This event will run rain or shine—please dress accordingly and plan to work outside!

Parking: Public parking available on site.

Additional Details: We recommend you bring a water bottle, snack, hat, string bag, a change of clothes, and sun protection. Wear clothes and shoes you aren't afraid to get muddy or dirty and dress according to the weather. We recommend you do not bring jewelry. All necessary tools and supplies will be provided including gloves, boots, waders, shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, trash bags, trash pickers and more.
