ULI Washington's Women's Leadership Initiative (WLI), together with event sponsors Walker & Dunlop, Chicago Title and Fidelity National Title, is pleased to present the inside story on Southern Management's high profile $2.4B Fannie Mae credit facility, financed by Walker & Dunlop. This is one of the largest transactions ever completed in the DC area and the largest in Walker & Dunlop's history. The panel includes some of the key team members instrumental in structuring and closing this 67-property multifamily portfolio in the midst of COVID-19. The portfolio is entirely based in the DC metro area, and 60 percent of the properties qualified as mission-driven affordable housing. The panel will delve into how this transaction came together, challenges faced and how they were overcome and the role that relationships played in executing a complicated transaction that strategically provides flexibility to the borrower and affordability to the DC market.
