    Come stroll, sip, and chat with us as we explore the Transformation of National Landing with ULI Washington’s YLG Programs & Special Events Committee on March 12th! Since the announcement of Amazon’s HQ2 and Virginia Tech’s Innovation campus in 2017, the National Landing neighborhood has evolved into a thriving destination for living, dining, shopping, and working.
     
    Join us for a preview tour of the soon-to-be-delivered 1900 Crystal Drive residential towers, a walk through the recently-opened Water Park outdoor food hall, and a happy hour event at the National Landing Experience Center. Following the tours, you will be able to participate in an enlightening discussion with our panelist speakers, including Tracy Gabriel from the National Landing BID, Amy Rice from JBG SMITH’s Retail Team, and Andrea Vieira from Nailsaloon as the conversation is moderated by YLG Programs & Special Events Committee Member Eddie Santos from JBG SMITH.

    Andrea Vieira

    Founder & CEO, Nailsaloon

    A native of Brazil, Andrea co-founded the nailsaloon in 2014, becoming its sole owner in 2021. As Chief Executive Officer, she leads the corporate direction, oversees operating performance, and sets the growth strategy. She also shapes the client and team experience, and as such is the nailsaloon's Chief Experience Officer.

    Amy Rice

    Senior Vice President, Retail Leasing, JBG SMITH Properties

    Amy Rice has over 20 years of real estate development experience with specific expertise in mixed-use development, retail leasing, placemaking, marketing, and residential leasing and sales. In her current role at JBG Smith, Mrs. Rice manages the retail leasing and design & construction efforts for the company’s Mixed Use Urban Placemaking team which oversees more than half a million square feet of retail space (notable projects include National Landing, The Ballpark, Atlantic Plumbing, and Gallaudet/Union Market). Prior to joining JBG Smith, Mrs. Rice was at Hines where she managed the retail development and leasing efforts for CityCenterDC, a 10-acre mixed-use development, located in downtown Washington, D.C. Mrs. Rice holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Colorado and an M.B.A. in Real Estate and Urban Development from The George Washington University.

    Tracy Gabriel

    President & Executive Director, National Landing Business Improvement District

    Tracy Sayegh Gabriel is an innovative urbanist, planner, and place-maker, committed to solving complex urban challenges and building livable, resilient neighborhoods. Tracy has 15 years of experience managing large-scale public projects in New York City and Washington, DC. She is Associate Director at the DC Office of Planning and oversees a design-forward, equity-driven Neighborhood Planning practice that includes all of the District’s neighborhood and community-based plans and placemaking. She serves as the District's planning and development lead for the revitalization of the Anacostia Waterfront and participates in a number of citywide resilience efforts. Tracy has worked as Vice President at the NYC Economic Development Corporation managing high-profile development projects and neighborhood-wide initiatives, including the transformation of Long Island City and its waterfront. She has also served as a consultant on various real estate, downtown and revitalization projects. Tracy was a Fulbright Scholar in economic development in Damascus, Syria, the oldest consistently inhabited city in the world.

    Eddie Santos

    Associate - Development, JBG SMITH Properties

    Eddie Santos is an Associate on JBG Smith’s Development Team. In his current role, Eddie manages the entitlement, design, & construction phases of multifamily mixed-use projects in Reston and in National Landing, including the newly-delivered 1900 Crystal Drive project. Prior to joining JBG Smith, Eddie started his career in Ernst & Young’s Assurance practice where he worked on the financial statement and internal control audits of a handful of clients in the biotechnology sector.
