Join us in Georgetown to meet the Georgetown Business Improvement District
and learn how the BID is helping area businesses adapt to a post-Covid CRE
climate. The BID leverages their talents in marketing, events, communications,
transportation planning, economic development, placemaking and public spaces, and
streetscapes/street operations to attract and retain businesses and visitors to this
neighborhood. As DC’s oldest neighborhood, Georgetown’s historical features create a rich visual backdrop to the modern community that exists today. Listen to the July 11 City Cast DC podcast about Georgetown to learn more.
In partnership with the Georgetown BID,
Georgetown Heritage is offering ULI Happy Hour participants an opportunity to
come aboard the Georgetown Heritage Chesapeake and Ohio (C&O) Canal Boat at
a discounted price of $10 for the 4:00 PM tour on Thursday, July 20th. The tour will be a one-hour guided historical tour along the first mile of
the C&O Canal National Historical Park.
Visitors will experience the Canal’s
historic lift locks and will also
learn about the fascinating history, technology and culture of the Canal,
and the surprising stories of the people who lived, worked, and played in
Georgetown over the past two centuries.
Tickets for the canal tour will need to be purchased separately from the Happy Hour tickets at
Canal
Boat — Georgetown Heritage. Select the “Educator” ticket at checkout. This offer is only redeemable for the 4:00 pm tour on Thursday, July 20th for attendees of the BID Happy Hour.
