On Saturday, December 7th, over 25 ULI Washington Young Leaders and ULI members volunteered at Community of Hope’s, Annual Holiday Market Event at the organization’s Conway Health Center in Southwest DC. While local entrepreneurs were selling their wares, ULI Washington volunteers helped children design gingerbread cookies, build arts and crafts, and make holiday cards. Even Santa Claus made an appearance, giving toys to the children, while ULI volunteers handed out hot chocolate and cookies baked by Mrs. Claus.
The ULI Young Leaders Group was excited to continue its partnership with Community of Hope, which works to create opportunities for low-income families in Washington, DC and help those experiencing homelessness transition into permanent housing. Community of Hope was able to serve countless members of its community, support local businesses, and spread holiday cheer.
