ULI’s Center for Sustainability and Economic Performance was pleased to host the inaugural ULI Resilience Summit— an exclusive one-day event focused on preparing professionals from the real estate and land use sectors for the impacts of climate change (see photos from the event on Flickr). Speakers from both public and private sectors shared their perspectives about how to better prepare for climate impacts, including strategies to assess climate risk, diversify portfolio risk and invest in resilient infrastructure, after a kick-off keynote from former investor Spencer Glendon about the potential long-term economic impacts of climate change. Attendees also had the opportunity to attend track sessions touring innovative projects in Washington D.C.’s Navy Yard neighborhood, including parks, the new D.C. Water headquarters and the waterfront Buzzard
Point neighborhood. The Center looks forward to hosting the event again at the 2020 Fall Meeting in San Francisco; please nominate future speakers by emailing [email protected] .
