Affordable housing, housing the unsheltered and transit-oriented development were just some of the hot topics discussed as graduate students at Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies participated in GU’s UrbanPlan program this month. ULI Washington UrbanPlan volunteers Ronnie Warner, Bridget Obikoya, TaNeesha Johnson, Waad Tammaa and Michael George met with students on January 18th to help them refine their proposals for redeveloping Elmwood. On January 25th, the students practiced presenting their plans before a mock city council comprised of volunteers David Bell, Paul Bernard, Rosalyn Doggett, Alison Johnson and Kamran Momenzadeh. Thank you to all the volunteers for staying after class each session in order to share career advice and insights on addressing some of the tough issues facing our city today.
